The Cross (Luke 9, 2-25)

Published Februari 13, 2013 by misstreeantoz

My beloved brothers, Jesus said to all: “whoever wishes to be my follower must deny his very self, take up his cross each day and follow in my steps”. Because of this revolutionary announcement, he was persecuted and he was not afraid to deliver his own life. The Cross is the consequence of the free commitment. The cross of Jesus Christ leads to freedom and victory over sin and death. What is the cross which Christ commands us to take up each day as his disciples? When our will crosses with his will, then his will must be done. The way of the cross involves sacrifice, the sacrifice of laying down my life each and every day for Jesus’ sake.
So… let us give Him our hands to do His work.
Let us give Him our feet to go His way.
Let us give Him our eyes to see as He does.
Let us give Him our tongue to speak His words.
Let us give Him our mind that He may think in us.
Let us give Him our spirit that He may pray in us.
Above all, let us give Him our heart that He may love in me,
His Father, and all mankind.
Let us give Him our whole self that He may grow in us,
so that it is He, Lord Jesus, who live and work and pray in us.
